The world's first accredited museum dedicated to collecting, preserving, and exhibiting visual art by LGBTQ+ artists or on LGBTQ+ themes, including erotic, political, and social imagery from over 6,000 objects spanning three centuries, founded in response to the AIDS crisis to combat erasure of queer history in NYC's SoHo (formerly Lower East Side-adjacent).
