Outer Heaven
A Japandi microclub on Chrystie Street where mezcal, sake, and curated vinyl meet house and disco.
Outer Heaven is a high-end, bespoke cocktail lounge & microclub located at 191 Chrystie Street. From a music programming standpoint, Outer Heaven features a high-fi audio experience designed by Nicolas Matar, founder of iconic sonic temples like Cielo and Output. In tandem with phonic technologies partner Scott Ciungan, Matar has created a unique jewel-box of sound and lighting that can only be described as the best sound system per-square-foot in New York City. The Monolith, the signature lighting feature of the space, is a fully-programmable led “skylight” that spans the dance floor, inspired by the works of artist James Turrell. Open 6 days a week at 6pm, Outer features a curated selection of vibey beats in the evening, interspersed with bartenders mixing in vinyl from our own collection at regular intervals through-out the night. Later in the night on weekends, DJs take the fore with a heady mix of house, disco, techno, and indie dance music. Monday evenings are DB^2 night, a love note to David Byrne and David Bowie, two of the club’s music heroes. Open 6 days a week at 6PM. Closed on Sundays (for now).
